College Readiness and Placement Options for Students from Therapeutic Programs

Educo’s Jeff  Dvorak, M.Ed. has worked in both therapeutic wilderness and boarding school settings and understands the need for special attention to detail when it comes to helping students in these settings move on to the next steps in their lives.

Students coming out of therapeutic or alternative residential programs can, in fact, be extremely attractive applicants for college admissions. There are many options, whether it be a four-year college, a post-graduate program, or any one of the many alternatives—and Educo understands how to organize an application and optimize the admissions essay to best position students for acceptance.

Educo helps evaluate readiness and find options that meet the immediate and future needs of these students and families. Assistance doesn’t have to stop on the first day of college. We also provide support after the placement to help with the adjustment period and offer mentoring services for as long as necessary.
